My Name is Kelly

So I don't know if there is something in the water here in Cedar City but basically all of my professors cannot remember my name for the life of them. Not a single one. I can understand if one professor doesn't remember. I'll even be gracious enough to forgive two professors. But when all of them (and there are five) do not remember my name, I fell I have the right to be a little miffed. And it's so obvious that they don't know my name. Yet they all have different approaches to concealing their ignorance or figuring out my name. My spanish and American lit. professors avoid calling on me and when they do they just signal me with a gesture of their hand instead of calling me by name like they do with everyone else. My British lit. and grammar professors will signal me with their hand but will make it obvious that they are struggling for my name. At that time I either relieve them and state my name or I feel extremely wicked and let them continue to suffer until they are forced to admit defeat and ask me my name. I smile, tell them my name, then assure them it's no big deal when really I'm punching them in the face in my head.

It's not as if my name is hard to remember. You could rhyme it easily: Kelly-Jelly-Belly-Smelly-Deli-Nelly-etc. You could think of of they "Kelly Song" from the t.v. show "Cheers" (the one where the chorus is "Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, K-E-L-L-Y. Why? because you're Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, etc). You could associate me with famous Kelly's such as Grace Kelly, Gene Kelly, Kelly Clarkson, Kelly from "Regis and Kelly", R Kelly, Kelly Rowland, Kelly Osbourne, Kelly Richards, the list goes on and on. If one was truly desperate they could just remember my last name. It's simple enough. Cannon--the huge gun on wheels that goes boom and kills people. It's not rocket science.

I just don't understand why my professors are struggling with my name. It's like the planets are misaligned or something. But I guess I'll just keep reminding them until they get it right. Hopefully but the end of the semester, eh?
